How often do we complain or feel frustrated that we aren't seeing any clear movements of the Holy Spirit in our lives? Are you like me, that at times you become almost restless with a desire to see the Lord moving in your life, or through you to others?
But just the same, how available are we truly making ourselves to the Holy Spirit? How uncomfortable are we truly willing to become so He can move?
When you speak with the barista at the coffee shop, how available are you to the Holy Spirit wanting to move in that encounter? When you are in class, or surrounded by peers or colleagues, how available are you to being outside of your comfort zone, inconvenienced, interrupted so that the Holy Spirit can move in those interactions? Or in the very routine interactions you have with your toddler, teens, or spouse, how available are you to letting those mundane moments be filled with the Holy Spirit?
How available are we truly making ourselves to the Holy Spirit? How uncomfortable are we truly willing to become so He can move?
So here is our challenge: to both reflect on the ways we are too comfortable and can open ourselves more to those around us, and to ask the Holy Spirit where He has been trying to use us and how we can be more open to Him there.
